Wireless update now available
0Maybe we missed the buzz, but earlier today one of our iPhones running iOS 5 received a fancy little notification saying an update was available. Tapping on the notification took us to the iPhone Settings area where we were directed to update the iPhone wirelessly to iOS 5.0.1.
Here’s how it went:
1. The iPhone checks for available updates and shows a summary of what is available.
2. Clicking on ‘learn more’ gives us a heap more information of what is included in the update and which iDevices are affected.
3. If you decide to go ahead an update, you have to first accept the T&C’s as you normally would if you were updating through iTunes.
4. Next, we were asked to plug in the iPhone during the update to save the battery. We didn’t. It still worked. More >

iOS5 Review
0iOS5 has been out for a few days now as Apple made it available to developers last Monday. As registered iPhone developers we were able to install and review iOS5 on one of our free iPhone 4s.
At first I was a little skeptical of the benefits of iOS5 over what was already on this iPhone, which of course was jailbroken so already had improved notifications, a better messenger service, rich text editing, SBSettings etc etc etc. Basically this iPhone, running OS4.2.1, had all of the features Apple has included in iOS5.
After restoring the iPhone and loading up the developer version of iOS5, I was quite pleasantly surprised with what I got.
- Notifications are a huge improvement. A subtle but noticeable icon on the top of the screen now informs me of my updates without a big blue box popping up and interrupting what I’m

Top 5 Retro Games to get on your iPhone
2Some software developers have flooded the App Store with uninspired games that simply aren’t worth your time or your hard-earned money, even if it is just a few Dollars, Euros or Pounds. So perusing the App Store to pick out a new game has become a bit of nightmare. Not only is there an overwhelming selection to contend with, but you really run the risk of making a poor purchase if you’re not careful. Fortunately, there is another option: retro gaming.
The great thing about retro is that it never goes out of style. It’s not as if yesteryear’s flops are still hanging around these virtual shelves. Retro games are games that have stood the test of time, and they manage to continue entertaining gamers even though graphics and other qualities are not quite up to modern standards.
