How to Fix the iPhone 4 Signal Problem

As soon as the first few iPhone 4 owners had unboxed their new toy, they noticed a bit of a problem – touching the antenna strip that surrounds the iPhone seems to reduce the signal it receives, by about 60%!

Left handers are the worst affected by this flaw, as it appears that holding the iPhone in the bare left hand causes this problem every time. It’s so bad that one left handers support group has gone as far as to accuse Apple of discriminating against lefties and covering it up as a design flaw…

Original iPhone released July 2007

iPhone 3G released July 2008

iPhone 3G S released July 2009

iPhone 4 released July 2010

Do you see the pattern here? If you sign up to a new iPhone contract with the major mobile phone providers, you will be either 6 months or 1 year away from the end of More >

O2 have announced some early iPhone 4 deals for existing customers, with some new plans available exclusive to the iPhone 4.

If you currently have an iPhone on a plan with O2, but are still locked in and can’t upgrade yet, O2 have an offer that allows you to effectively end your contract early and upgrade to the iPhone 4. You will be able to pay off the remaining months on your contract at a reduced rate of ‘just’ £20 a month and be immediately eligible for an upgrade. Rip off? Maybe, but at last it’s an option if you are desperate.

The O2 website even provides a handy fee calculator so you can see how much it will cost you to upgrade to More >
